LIVE INTERVIEW WITH INGRID RIERA, DIVING PROFESSIONAL
Hablamos de la importancia de mantenerse en buena forma física, en cuidar la alimentación; que hay que prepararse para los viajes. Cuando una se hace mayor, debe ser consciente de los requerimientos físicos para poder disfrutrar de la actividad que se propone.
We spoke of the importance of keeping in good shape, in paying attention to nutrition and that we have to prepare the trips. Especially if they are demanding, so that we can enjoy the activities.
ARTICLE IN MAINSTREAM SPANISH NEWSPAPER, EL PAÍS
The Spanish journalist Galo Martín has been following my trip in Latin America, and we had several phone interviews along the way.
Galo has a clear understanding and interest in ageing, ageism and the current status in society. His article reflects our conversations, the exchange of ideas, and his true empathy with the topic. The overall conclusion is that ageing stereotypes are obsolete, that the population over the age of 65 is not a homogeneous group, rather three different groups with different needs: those from age 65-74, 75-84 and above 85. These growing segments of population have varied needs and desires that should be acknowledged. Society as such would do better by allowing conditions for the silver generation to feel mentally and physically well.
It is crucial that the intitutions, corporations and media all collaborate to set the new groud for soon 20% of population. Galo Martin and the the media El País are doing their share.
Hopefully we shall soon see new role models for positive and active ageing become the norm.
LIVE INTERVIEW ON SPANISH RADIO, RNE, “LAS TARDES DE RNE”
The popular radio program “Las tardes en RNE” on the Spanish national radio, invited me talk about my experence in the 6 month travel in Latin America, how the decision came about and the project Silver Traveler.
The known journalist Lourdes Maldonado and Manuel Martin-Albo Martínez wanted to know the details, but as usual time was running out and a future visit to the studio would probably do justice :-). Some quite fast Spanish speaking .. 🙂
The interview is in minute 30-39 (after the talk with the famous Spanish singer Pastora Soler, who represented Spain in Eurovision in 2012).
